Conductor and music are beguiling. And to see the lead cello smiling so much, as he did at the beginning, is a rare experience! So much fun.

I love this piece of music, and in this particular performance, I loved watching the conductor! He is totally animated and "into" the music! He's practically dancing at certain parts of the performance! It was wonderful to listen to this video and entertaining to watch! Thanks for posting.❤

Absolut fabulos. Aproape ca nu am cuvinte sa descriu ce minunatie ati creat, daca imi dati voie sa spun asa! Multi ani am crezut ca "varianta" Maestrului Celibidache este cea mai buna, dar dumneavoastra m-ati facut sa ma razgandesc. O expresie antrenanta, cu accente magnifice pe anumite pasaje, elemente pe care nu le-am auzit in alte intrepretari. Bravo, bravo, bravo!

There is another work, loosely based on this, called "Hora Staccato". I think it was written by a violinist. Fred Waring and the Pennsylvanians had a choral version.
Yeah, Grigoras Dinicu was the violinist-composer on that one. I conducted it once as an encore but didn't know it was loosely based on this piece.

What a fabulous, entertaining, exciting conductor! The performance is magic. This is a video to watch time and time again.
Again, appreciation for the civility of the audience. No cheering, yelling and screaming when the first notes are played. Just a subdued murmur. Must not be in the US. (Could use some views of the orchestra playing.)

Foarte buna interpretare, desi dirijorul copiază, în mod evident, multe din gesturile lui Celibidache. Cred ca e totuși exagerat sa consideri ca îl egalează sau îl depășește pe Celi.
Probably the best rendition of the Romanian Rhapsody I ever heard...... my only regret is that the camera didn't budge..... we couldn't see the musicians actually performing...... enthusiastic kudos to the conductor......
